About

Danny Ching is not only a legend in the world of SUP but is across all the paddle disciplines, most prominently on the outrigger canoe scene but also within sprint kayaking and dragon boat racing. Ching’s elder, Al Ching, created the Lanakila Outrigger Club in 1970 and taught Danny to outrigger as soon as he was able to walk. This clearly paid off, as since Danny has won multiple outrigger world titles.

Ching turned to SUP in 2008 as a natural extension from the outrigger canoe and has mingled among the best racers in the world proving himself as a true threat. A defining moment of Ching’s SUP career was his 2012 Battle of the Paddle victory, beating out the likes of Kai Lenny and Connor Baxter.

Danny’s commitment to SUP stretches beyond just racing as he has founded his own SUP brand, 404 SUP, where sells boards and hosts clinics to equip and empower the next generation of paddlers.
