Felipe grew up in the coastal city of Fortaleza, Brazil, spending the majority of his childhood at the beach. He started
surfing when he was just 9 years old, following in the footsteps of his older brothers. After he started competing on the Northeastern Brazilian Surf Circuit, Felipe discovered he had a flair for the sport and won various competitions as a grom and as a teenager. Simultaneous to his surfing feats, he was winning national championships in Jiu Jitsu.

Felipe expanded his passion for water sports in the early 2000s and began Kite Surfing. His love of the ocean inspired him to move to Gran Canaria, where he surfs every single day. When the APP World Tour visited Gran Canaria in 2018, Felipe saw the event and was enticed by SUP surfing. He bought a board and paddle almost immediately and began pursuing the sport. He practised everyday and a year later he competed in the APP 2019 event, making it through multiple heats. Felipe has a Jiu Jitsu school and one day would like to open up a SUP school, to allow SUP to grow in Gran Canaria.
