Jérémy Teulade was born in Paris, where he lived for 10 years before moving to Geneva, then to Lyon to study in a sport university and finally to Marseille after having started Stand Up Paddle. His mother is a sport teacher and his father is a water polo coach, who used to train the French team.

Jérémy first discovered water sports in his teens where he learnt to windsurf on Leman Lake, but in 2010 Jeremy began to Stand Up Paddle where he practised on family holidays in Southern France. While he was studying in Lyon, he and his brother Ludovic decided to become more heavily invested in SUP in 2013. The pair moved close to Marseille to begin serious training after the summer of 2014.
