About
Born on February 11, 2004 in Gran Canaria, teenager Liam is already a junior world champion. He's currently based in Maspalomas, where he trains and attends school.
Liam’s origins are half Danish, on his father Björn's side, and half Canarian, on his mother María's side.
Since a young boy, he's been passionate about the sea and all things water, with Björn, who he admires as a father, athlete and coach, introducing him to windsurfing.
Until 2015 Liam was more into surfing, a discipline in which he was ranked as the Canarian junior number one in the U13, U14 and U15 categories, having also been ranked in the top five in the Spanish junior surfing rankings.
At the age of 12, Liam took part in his first PWA Junior (U13) Windsurfing competition in Pozo Izquierdo, Gran Canaria, where he made the top three and started developing a bigger interest for windsurfing.
In 2019, at the age of 15, he made his debut in the PWA Windsurfing Wave Overall category in Sylt, Germany. Since then, windsurfing has been his main focus and he struck gold in September 2020 when he took first place in the PWA Youth Wave World Cup (U-17s) in Klitmøller, Denmark.
However, Liam considers himself an all-round waterman, participating regularly in other water disciplines such as surfing and SUP, in which he still takes part in regional and national competitions. He also enjoys skateboarding as a hobby.
