Lucas Medeiros was born in Espírito Santo, Brazil but now lives in Rio de Janeiro with the Vaz family, who adopted him in 2013. He tried Stand Up Paddling in 2012 in the Brazilian Summer and has since proved himself to be one of the most impressive Stand-Up Paddle surfers in the world, surfing famed spots such as Teahupoo in Tahiti and Peahi Jaws in Hawaii.

Outside of SUP he has a table company in Rio, making wooden and resin tables alongside surrogate brother, Ian Vaz. Lucas also surfs, boxes, Hydro foils and does Jiu Jitsu.
