Luiz Diniz was born and raised in the city of Guarujá and had a traditional Brazilian upbringing, spending his childhood flying kites and playing marbles. He has been surfing since he was 14 years old and was introduced to SUP in 2015 by his friend. On his first ever wave ridden on a SUP Luiz did a reverse aerial, a manoeuvre his companion had been attempting for years- an extraordinary start which would go on to be an extraordinary career.

Luiz has since been crowned 2 X ISA World Champion and remains a serious contender on the APP World Tour, taking first place at the 2019 New York SUP Open and 4th place overall. Luiz is one of the pioneers of the sport, constantly pushing its limits with his innovative surfing and unique style.
