Moehau was born in a small town called Mataiea, located in French Polynesia. His family owns a lagoon so Moehau spent an idyllic childhood fishing, surfing and canoeing, establishing a deep connection with water at a very young age.

In 2016, Moehau started rowing and joined a local club where he got a taste for competition. Meeting and training with Va’a and SUP legend, Georges Cronsteadt, allowed Moehau to take his passion and competitive edge to the next level. He moved into the world of SUP after his cousin, Enzo Bennett, lent him equipment which was the catalyst Moehau needed for success. In 2018 he started competing in local competitions and in 2019 paddled on to the international circuit, competing in the APP World Tour.
